M&Ms and Arrays

So recently I have had free time (haha... just kidding)! But I did find that I needed some resources that I didn't have available! So, I decided to create some of my own resources.  I learned a little of how hard it is to create resources (who knew, right?) and how un-user friendly some programs are! But it was a good lesson to learn.

Here is a activities to go with teaching arrays and eating M&Ms. It was fun and the kids loved doing it and it is FREE!  Enjoy!

First Post of the First Year

So far, the first year has been... crazy, to say the least!  I never thought teaching would be so hard. However, it has been so rewarding as well! So here I'm just going to list a few things I've learned in my first year.

  1. College doesn't prepare you.  At all.  You learn on your feet.
  2. Setting up a cute classroom is so fun.
  3. Your cute classroom will get messy quickly.
  4. Kids do the weirdest things some times.
  5. Party days are exhausting but so fun!
  6. A six hour day feels short.
  7. Keep your class in order.
  8. There is a lot of stuff to cover and not enough time.
  9. Field trips are exhausting but fun too!  I always am feeling like I'll lose a student!
  10. Make sure your kids know you love them.
I look forward to the adventures to come this year with my second graders!
